Hello! We're Jessica and Geoff
Molnár, a couple of Odd Ducks. We dance
to the beat of our
own
drummer and we believe whole-heartedly in happily ever after. We
met in San Francisco back in 2003. Jessica was studying Textile
Design, Book Arts and Printmaking at Academy of Art University while
slinging coffee to make ends meet. Geoff had already received his
BA from UC Berkeley where he studied Architecture, Physics and Fine
Art and was at the time doing the "John Galt" thing working as a metal
fabricator. We fell in love and shacked up. Due to the high
cost of living in the Bay Area, home for us was an Airstream trailer
and an industrial yard that we affectionately dubbed "The
Compound". Over the next few years we each developed and honed
our unique skill sets. Geoff became a designer and project
manager at Eclipse, a design firm specializing in ornamental,
architectural metalwork. After graduating, Jessica apprenticed
with Peter Koch Printers where she assisted in the production of fine
press, limited-edition books. Geoff had been running his own side
business, Molnár Craft,
for years and he encouraged Jessica's
entrepreneurial spririt. In 2007, Jessica began taking business
classes and in 2008 Odd Duck Press was launched. We make a great
team. Jessica delights in creating the perfect artwork for each
new client. Design, texture, color and all of the persnickety
little details are where she shines. Geoff is a whiz with all
things mechanical and technological. He keeps the press running
smoothly and he can trouble shoot a computer glitch like nobody's
business. In our spare time we enjoy renovating Airstream
trailers, watching cult films, drinking craft beer, doting upon our dog
and exploring our new home state of Washington.
